Welcome to the home page of North Wakefield Radio Club (NWRC) callsign G4NOK
NWRC is one of the most active radio clubs in the North of England; meetings are held every Thursday at the East Ardsley Cricket Club, just off M1 – Junction 41. The club has a well equipped radio shack and a reasonably priced bar. The members are a friendly bunch, always willing to help and assist newcomers and as well as more seasoned operators.
The club house and shack is in close proximity to the cities of Leeds to the North and Wakefield to the South. The club has changed with the times since it’s formation in the 1970s and promotes a variety of activities for its members. NWRC is active in contests, special event stations and last year had a successful rally after an absence of 10 years. The club has a well equipped shack with facilities for both HF and VHF operators alike, in fact one of the cornerstones of the club is to try and accommodate all tastes – whether it be rare long distance DX or ragchewing with the locals on FM.
The club is currently undergoing something of a renaissance with a healthy number of new members as well as some returning lapsed members.
This website will keep people informed of what we are up to as well as carry links to other clubs news and information of interest to radio amateurs worldwide.
